Y ahora, una bici con monstruo ✿ And now, a bike with a monster

A few days ago I shared with you that I customized  my bike with crocheted flowers and a bird. Of course, as soon as he saw me sewing  the flowers to the basket, my little David asked me to "decorate" his bike too.
Crafteina - Crochet decorated bike

After thinking about some different options, I decided to make a garland and a monster with a "speed face", -as Mimari would say- ☺  The garland was easy, but I had to think  about how to hold the monster so it doesn't move and ended upside down ...

For this project I used Drops Paris cotton that I bought in Miss Entretelas  my favorite yarn store, although I have not yet been able to visit it in person because it is in Gijón.

I made the wreath creating a chain of 70 points. Then, from the point 16 did the little triangles: 8 dc for the first row and then decreasing the stitches in the corners (dc2tog) every row since only one was left.  Then skipped 2 chains and started a new triangle.

I have to say that after making it I discovered that there's one very similar to this one in Lucy's blog and is beautifully explained.

The monster is similar to those I made for his birthday, only this time I've made some stripes that match the bunting triangles and the bike. I intentionally made one eye bigger than the other so that you will notice the sensation of traveling at high speeds on the handlebars :)

To prevent it to move I added a Velcro strip underneath to which I sewed a piece of that anti-slip material that is put under rugs. Once attached to the handlebars, it works perfect!
Y así quedó la bici decorada.  David está super feliz y yo más

So the bike is now decorated. David is super happy and I am even more ♥

¡Me encantaría verla!

If you want to personalize your bike, let me know.  It would be super fun to pedal out and meet other bikes "tunned" with crochet ☺ And if this post inspires you to decorate your bike, send me a picture... I'd love to see it!
